Don't Get a Big Head About It

Apparently there is a trend in photography. The trend is to take photos of people with larger photos in the background--specifically portrait or headshot photos. Visit Big Heads and see what I mean.

Who Was That Celebrity I Saw You With Last Night?

What is there about celebrities? We want to see them, talk to them, and even pose for pictures with them. If you have ever gotten a celeb to pose for a picture with you and you'd like to share it with the world, go to Celebrity Safari. You can post your photo with the rich and famous.

Four More Years

The folks at Jib Jab did it again. They've created a victory song for the current resident of the White House. You have to click through a couple of screens to get there but you can hear and see Second Term if you have just a little patience. The download is over 5 megs so there will be a "little" wait if you're using dialup.

Will the Real Jim Wilson Please Stand Up--Or Show Us Your Photo

This data base is truly unique. It is a photo database of people named Jim Wilson. As of December 2004 there were over 50 Jim Wilsons listed at the site. Each Jim Wilson (JW) that qualifies is allowed to post a brief (1-2 sentence paragraph) biography, a photo and a hyperlink. Yet another example of the strange and wonderful info available on the Internet.

Can We Have a Show of Hands?

The Hand Collection is a collection of hands--photographs of hands that is. People send photos of their hand--usually decorated with pen, marker, tattoo, fabric, etc. These photos are then posted to a gallery with other hand images. The hands come from all over the world, have messages scrawled on them, faces or creatures. Why hands? According to the webmaster: "Feet is harder."

Vegetarian Propaganda

An interesting Flash animation can be found at The Meatrix. Here we see how the animals on the farm are lead to believe they live in a wonderful rural setting when the reality is they live in nasty old assembly line stables. The message is a bit preachy but it is a fun little Flash if you can get past the sermonizing.

One for the Road

I've seen lots of magazines and ezines on the Internet but this is by far one of the strangest zines I've seen to date. The focus is drunkenness. It is called the Modern Drunkard Magazine. It celebrates drunkenness by having profiles of famous drunks (latest issue has articles about Jackie Gleason and Hunter Thompson). Editorials run to boycotting Jack Daniels because they've lowered the proof of their whiskey. Other articles contain such gems as the history of words we love to slur, drinking music, and cocktail recipes. Not for everyone. Make up your own mind.

Videos, Games and Other Stuff

Dancing Jesus is not a site for everyone. Quite a few of the videos and other links at this site may be offensive to some and probably should not be viewed by minors. That being said:

Apparently the site called Dancing Jesus is based upon a site created on The Simpson's. This is a collection of videos, games and other random graphic/audio sites. Some of the links are hilarious and others are offensive. You have to make up your own mind about which is which.

Discover the World--One Grain of Sand at a Time

This title is a paraphrase of the International Society of Sand Collectors motto. That's right. These folks are psammologists. They collect sand. There's information on the hobby, how to become a collector, projects, picture gallery and more. If nothing else, you've just learned a new big word.

Have a Cat Without the Kitty Litter

Maukie is an online kitty. You can play with it online or download it for yourself. If you want to see what Maukie is like click here. After you play with Maukie for awhile if you decide you would like to have your own Maukie then go to Maukie's home page for info on a download.

Cluster Ballooning

Most of us have seen cartoons or very bad sitcoms where a character sits down in a chair, blows up a couple balloons, attaches them to the chair and then floats into the sky. I always thought it was a bit of fantasy. But guess what. It's reality. People actually do this stuff. The Cluster Balloon Flight Page will provide you with all the information you need about this unique recreation form.

Artistic (Strange?) Structures of Ohio

Ohio Barns is more than just barns. It is a collection of various structures that have been changed from utilitarian storage structures into roadside works of art. The webmaster has a particular affinity for barns but also includes storage tanks, gas stations, water towers, and even castles. Art is everywhere. And if it's not, you can make it.
