What if...
Have you ever thought about how your life would have been changed by just one change to one event in your life. This is the stuff of science fiction and the theory of alternate universes and What If.... Apparently Craig Robinson has. He has created a graphic decision tree and different things that could have occured in his life and the ultimate outcomes of those various events. Another case of someone with a lot of time on their hands.
What's Wrong With These Pictures?
Now I could be wrong but if you don't want someone to see something, the last thing you do is post it on the Internet. That seems to be what the Parents Television Council has done. Each week they post what is allegedly the Worst (meaning sex and violence) of the Week Clips Gallery. These are clips from television shows and advertisements that are deemed to be unacceptable for viewing by young people. There are probably a lot of youngsters who have this as one of their favorites.

Don't Judge an Album by its Cover
Welcome to the Museum of Bad Album Covers. While the recordings themselves may have been very good (Yesterday and Today), the album covers leave a lot to be desired. Others are flawed both inside and out (Oh, Jesus! Biblical Ventriloquism). I'm not making these up and neither does the site. See if any of your favorite albums are listed. If they aren't and you think they should be, you can always nominate them.

How to Use a Dial Phone
A blast from the past. The Internet Archive displays an old promotional film from 1950s on the proper method for using a dial-up phone. Prior to this time, many phones accessed a real live operator who would ask for, "Number, please." See how the dial baffled new users in the past. Someday our ancestors will look at our training films on computers and wonder at our inability to comprehend the most simple of devices.

Photography with Flavor
Susan Hesse has put together an interesting site that combines photography with various foods. Basically she's taken photos and superimposed parts of these same photos with vegetables and other foodstuffs. Dozens of these photos are available for viewing as thumbnails. A quick click on one of these and a larger version of it appears.

The Great Audio Challenge
When I was growing up there was a quiz show on TV called Name That Tune. Players would listen to the first few notes of a popular song and then have to identify the song. At the PBS Video Game Revolution site they've taken this idea to the next level. They call it Name That Game. A player listens to a very short sound effect from a video game from the past and must identify the game where it came from. How many games can you identify by sound alone?
